In 2001 during a surf trip to Sri Lanka, surfing buddies Tor Marius and Frode came across natural rubber flip flops and filled their board bags with gifts for friends and family during a factory visit. 16 years later during a dinner in the Canary Islands, Frode's wife wondered why no one made the flip-flops she wanted. This became the starting point for a new business idea and before the night was over they had a plan to come up with a better alternative. They decided to create flip-flops made from sustainable materials.
